Daini Ijiyama General Waste Final Landfill Site of the Katori City-Town and Municipal Area Affairs Association

Non-discharge achieved through reuse of desalinated water

Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, is located 15 km from the Narita Airport.
The city has been selected as the first area in the Kanto region to conserve a group of important traditional buildings. It is rich in nature, history, and culture which includes the natural landscape around the Tone River, located in the Misato Tsukuba National Park, as well as the former housing of "Tadataka Ino," who created the Japanese map for the first time in Japan, and the merchants and landscapes built from the Edo period to the early Showa era.

Daini Ijiyama General Waste Final Disposal Site of the Katori City, Town, and Municipal Area Affairs Association is a closed-system type for municipal waste final disposal site designed to protect the rich natural environment.

Non-discharge achieved through reuse of treated water

The landfill leachate is treated by biological treatment, coagulation and sedimentation, advanced treatment and in addition, desalinated by electrodialysis membranes.
By reusing treated water as utility water for incineration facilities and landfill sites, we have achieved no discharge system.
